A YMCA Adventure Guides circle in the Broken Arrow Expedition — dads and sons, side by side, marking 100 years of campouts, chants and the kind of memories that stick.

Celebrating 30 Years

Three Decades of Dads & Sons

In 1996, a small group of Orange County dads pitched a few tents, lit a campfire, and started something they didn't fully realize would still be going strong thirty years later. Since that first season, Mighty Creek has passed the paddle from father to son, campout to campout — through hundreds of circle meetings, dozens of skits gone sideways, and more graduations than anyone can count. Same creek, same crew spirit, thirty years of memories deep.

Built on a century of dads and kids outdoors

YMCA Adventure Guides pairs parents and kids for hands-on outdoor time — campouts, canoeing, campfires and circle meetings that turn into lifelong traditions. Mighty Creek is one circle inside the larger Broken Arrow Expedition, and this season we're adding new chants, new leadership roles for dads and sons, and our own trailer so gear finally has a home.
